A story about a young man, his bicycle and the herculean labors he does to persuade a woman to fall in love with him in a small village in Northern Greece.
Confronted with his father’s decision to move the family to Toronto in the 1980’s, John an outgoing, idealistic Quebecer cyclist leaves Montreal to follow his childhood dream of riding his bicycle across Europe to India. After trouble in Yugoslavia: sick, penniless, and hungry, he makes his way to a very traditional village in Northern Greece, where he meets a charismatic and independent local girl named Haitho. John soon falls in love with Haitho, but her Grandmother doesn’t like John. So, she sets him on a series of tasks that grow more and more Herculean, hoping he’d give up and go away. Yet despite her ggrandmother’s attempts, Haitho falls for John. After their love becomes obvious to the disapproving village, the star-crossed lovers must choose: to risk all they have known for love, or give up and return to a disillusioned reality.
